Explore the Battery and the beautiful historic houses around it! From the battery, you can see Fort Sumter, the spot that began the Civil War. The Battery also leads you straight to the famous Rainbow Row on East Bay Street.
If you love beautiful old homes and cobblestone streets like we do, you’ll love meandering around the streets south of Broad St. in downtown Charleston. Pair this little adventure with White Point Gardens to maximize your time!

Explore pristine beaches and the quaint downtown area on Sullivan’s Island. This is a residential island; most of these homes cannot be rented short term, so it is the least touristy of the islands. Grab a bite to eat at Poe’s Tavern or The Obstinate Daughter while you’re there!
Isle of Palms is the most family-friendly beach among Charleston’s beaches. You’ll find long, wide stretches of sand beyond the dunes. It’s very close to Sullivan’s Island and Mount Pleasant, both of which have better dining options than IOP. This is the beach Jordan grew up visiting with her family!
See where Zach proposed under the false pretense of a “history tour” around Charleston. ;) The very bench where he popped the question is in the picture above!
