In February 2020, just weeks before the world would pause, Jordan and Wilfred crossed paths on a dating app, completely unaware of the invisible string already tying their lives together. Before they ever matched, their worlds had been quietly orbiting one another. Both ran track at Rider University in New Jersey, just a few years apart, never meeting but somehow following similar paths. After two years, life pulled them in different directions. Wilfred transferred to Morgan State University in Maryland, Jordan’s hometown. Jordan transferred to Rutgers University in New Jersey…just minutes from Wilfred’s hometown. Still, fate wasn’t ready to introduce them yet. Years later, their paths finally aligned back at Rutgers. Wilfred completing his master’s degree, and Jordan finishing her undergraduate studies, just in time for the universe to say, “Okay… now.” They started dating shortly after and leapt heart-first into a long-distance love story. Through a global pandemic, countless weekend drives between Maryland and New Jersey, and adventures to Cabo, Colorado, Las Vegas, and Florida with both families, they learned to laugh through chaos, cherish time together, and build something real, steady, and beautiful. Eventually, love made the decision clear. Wilfred moved to Maryland to be with Jordan, his very own “never say never” moment, and life finally slowed into something sweet and shared. Grocery trips became adventures. Evenings turned into traditions. They found a love for pickleball…and an even bigger love for simply being together. Then, on February 15, 2025, just two days before their fifth anniversary, Wilfred dropped to one knee inside a breathtaking building overlooking the Empire State Building in New York City. With tears streaming down his face, he asked Jordan to spend forever with him. Spoiler alert: she said YES! After years of late-night calls, long drives, see you next time hugs, and endless laughter, they’re ready for forever.
