The National Mall is centrally located in Washington, DC, stretching over 2 miles from the Lincoln Memorial on the west end to the U.S. Capitol on the east end. It is one of the most visited national parks with so much history to explore. If you have the time to do so, we recommend checking them out at night!
The Smithsonian offers eleven museums and galleries on the National Mall and six other museums and the National Zoo in the greater National Capital Area. Most are free to access! Our favorites are the Air and Space Museum and the Renwick Gallery.
One of the newest additions to the city, The District Wharf is a waterfront area packed with restaurants, local shops, and even a music venue! We like to come here for drinks and dinner when the weather is nice. For food, we recommend Hanks Oyster Bar, Oficina, or Del Mar.
Georgetown is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city! The neighborhood is made up of cobble stone streets lined with great restaurants and shops. We recommend visiting the iconic cupcake shops Georgetown Cupcakes, Baked & Wired, and Sprinkles to determine your favorite. For those wondering, we're team Baked & Wired all the way.
We love the DC food scene and definitely have a list of favorites we recommend! Warning: some of these require booking reservations a few weeks in advance. Plan accordingly :) - Red Hen - Osteria Morini - RPM Italian - Del Mar - Le Diplomate - Tail Up Goat - Lapis - Roses Luxury
