Needless to say, it was not love at first sight for us. We both met at Wofford College on our very first day of school. We ended up having three classes together every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. However, I don't even recall seeing Tucker in any of these classes. Things changed as spring semester approached and we no longer had a class together. A group of my girl friends were planning a dinner to P.F. Changs in Greenville. My friend from home could not make it so I asked my friends for advise and my best friend Savannah encouraged me to invite Tucker. The dinner was a blast yet we were still not feeling the fireworks (we hardly spoke two words at dinner!) However, things seemed to change as a friendship slowly began to form. For the rest of the spring semester, we began to get to know each other better. Soon we were keeping in touch over the summer and our relationship really took off Fall Semester of our Sophomore year. After that, you can fast forward to where we are today. After five years, we are ecstatic that we are getting married and we can't thank God enough for bringing us where we are today. While love may not have formed at the beginning, our love for each other is stronger than ever now!
If you know Tucker well then you know he is a simple man and he planned the perfect engagement that was just for us. Since everything for us started at Wofford College, this is where he proposed. It was Easter weekend and we were meeting Tucker's parents in Spartanburg, SC since they were up for the weekend visiting. Little did I know, this was all part of the plan. Tucker mentioned stopping by Wofford to check out the new buildings that were going up but instead of driving that way, he insisted that we walk to the fountain. This fountain has memories for us already because this is where we were also dunked in for his lavaliere senior year. We walked up to the fountain and in typical Tucker fashion, he got down on one knee within 30 seconds of getting to the fountain and asked me to marry him. Our families were meanwhile hiding behind the trees next to the Admissions building watching the entire thing! It was exactly what I imagined our proposal story being.
