Rave Coffee Roasters
This is our favourite coffee shop. It is about a 40 minute drive into Canmore from the venue location. We stop here every time we visit Canmore. They have a changing variety of single-origin pour over roasts available each day. Canmore is also a great town to explore with some great shops and places to eat.
Elbow Falls
Elbow falls is about a 30 minute drive south from the venue. There are also many good hikes in the Kananaskis area where the falls are located. The town is a cute place to spend a few hours - be sure to pop by the Cinnamon Spoon for a cinnamon bun or a coffee!
Banff Upper Hot Springs
We love to visit the hot springs when we are in Banff. You can also enjoy the town and the beautiful surrounding park.
Village Ice Cream
Our favourite ice cream shop in Calgary. There are 3 locations. We recommend the coffee and salted caramel flavours with a waffle cone.
Prince's Island Park
This is a lovely park to visit for an afternoon if the weather is nice. There is a small water park close to Eau Claire Mall for those with young ones, and an ice cream stand right beside the park for a refreshing treat. Enjoy a picnic in the green space or go for a stroll beside the river in either direction along the well maintained bike and walking paths.
Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre
Opened in 2016, the National Music Centre is a fun place for kids and adults alike. Walk through exhibits about Canadian music past and present, and enjoy hands-on exhibits for making and learning about music and sound. If you have time, walk the few blocks to the new Central Library - it has won innovative architecture awards!
TELUS Spark
With lots of hands on learning and live demonstrations, the science centre is a great place for families to explore for the day. If you are feeling ambitious, why not add the zoo next door to the plan?
Nose Hill Park
Calgary is known for the many parks it has within the city limits. This one provides beautiful views of the city and the mountains. If you get lucky you might even see deer or a porcupine along your walk!
Royal Tyrrell Museum
Looking for a day trip? The Royal Tyrell Museum is a famous spot to visit in southern Alberta. Located in Drumheller, 1.5 hours drive from Calgary, the museum is chock full of information and exhibits all about dinosaurs. A must-see on this trip includes a stop at Dinosaur Provincial Park for a walk among the hoodoos, curious rock formations that look like they are straight out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Have a sweet tooth? Donut miss a visit to Jelly Modern for their creations! Since you will be a few blocks away, why not stroll down 17th Avenue, known for an array of local shops, cafes and restaurants?
Fish Creek Provincial Park
Fish Creek is the second largest urban park in Canada and a place both of us love to run and explore. If you get hungry, Annie's Restaurant is in the park and has great baked goods and ice cream.
Fiestival Latin Festival at Olympic Plaza
If you're close to downtown, this festival is happening the same weekend as our wedding (July 19-21st) and it's free. There will be a wide array of entertainment and food highlighting Latin American Culture.
