Why did we choose the name "Alvos?" 
Neither of us wanted to hyphenate our names, so we decided to combine them. "Young" and "Downing" don't combine very well and left us with options like "Dung," "Yowning," and "Dong." Yikes! 
Instead, we decided to honor our matrilineal lines and combine our mothers' maiden names, "Alvaro" and "Cobos," which led us to "Alvos."
