Early in the relationship, we took a meandering trip through the Hill Country (first of many) that ended in San Marcos for BBQ. The trip is a little too long to hit up that exact BBQ location, but luckily there is one in Austin. Black's is famous here in Austin!
This is about a 30 min Uber from Downtown to Hill Country but if you are coming in on Friday, it is definitely an experience. They have live music on the weekends and also have a wine cellar. If you miss your chance to make it out to Driftwood don't worry there's a Salt Lick location in the Austin Airport.
The brainchild of Aaron Franklin, the BBQ King, and Tyson Cole, of Uchi fame, Loro is an Asian-inspired smokehouse that is great for groups, big and small. This is restaurant holds a special place in our hearts and we go there all of the time. They don't take reservations, but time flies when you are enjoying good company and a gin & tonic slushie in their outdoor bar and garden!
Visit this gorgeous pool with amazing city views and an incredible salamander preserve! Robert loves to jump in here (or is forced to by his friends) after a morning run and Jordan even braved it for her first (and last) polar bear plunge. It's even free before 8 a.m.
