Have you ever crossed paths with someone so many times that when you finally got to meet that person you were stunned at how you never met before that moment? Well, that is our story. In the same room more than once or twice, and yet never spoke..until that lucky day in Vegas. In August of 2015 Jordan was invited to celebrate a friend's birthday in Vegas. As with any trip to Vegas one would assume that it would consist of long nights with memories that could only be shared with those in your circle, but to her surprise, it ended up being one of her most valued and shared moments she had ever experienced. At the Hard Rock Hotel Pool Party, Jordan and her friends were greeted to hundreds of people dancing around with no care in the world. Every inch of the pool was filled with college students celebrating their last moments of freedom before they had to go back to school. A little overwhelmed but optimistic, Jordan and her friends found a semi-quiet area by the pool in the back of the party. There she would be greeted with a group of guys that seemed to be cool and on the same party "level" as her group. They began talking and then Quentin joined in. Once she saw Quentin she knew she needed to talk to him. It felt as if a magnetic pull was bringing them together and it was destined to be. So Jordan jumped in the pool and began talking to him. While talking, Quentin and Jordan realized they were intertwined without ever knowing one another. One of the biggest coincidences was that Quentin and Jordan just happened to live in Hyattsville at the time. Along with that, Jordan had mutual friends back in DC and Maryland that were also friends with Quentin. The more time they spent together the more intrigued they became with one another. From that day til now, Jordan and Quentin have created an unbreakable bond, fused together by God's promise for love and devotion in their lives.
Early in Quentin and Jordan's relationship they both decided that Thanksgiving would be shared with our extended family. From the first Thanksgiving they spent together in Dayton with Jordan's parents until now, Quentin and Jordan have prioritized the moment with cousins, brothers and Aunts and Uncles. The Thanksgiving of 2019, was their turn to host it and they made sure every detail was fine tuned and perfect for the relatives visiting from all over the country. The night that everyone arrived was the day before the holiday, which was an exciting and anxiety driven moment, making sure everything was going perfectly. We laughed and smiled and the anxious energy quickly subdued over time. It was the time to pop the question. Prior to going out on the town Quentin decided to "cheers" to a fun Thanksgiving weekend and to Jordan's surprise, got on one knee and proposed. Tears and laughter were shared from the whole family when she said "YES". A sigh of relief from Quentin came, following the most memorable "Cheers" we all experienced.
