In mid-2018, they were a couple college students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater; there was a popular bar called Pumpers, where a lot of their friends would go to let off some steam. Nick approached Jordan, told her that they would be best friends, then went on his way. They happened to cross paths again later that night, dropping off his friend from the bar. It is here where they formally made each other's acquaintance. This is not an uncommon experience in college: you meet someone, you share conversation and a couple laughs, and you don't see them again. This very well could have been the end of this story, but in this case it was not. Jordan seemed fond of Nick and his unusual attempts at conversation, and found him on a popular social media website. She followed him, he followed her back, and they began talking. They realized their parents shared a town of residence, and even attended the same church service that Easter Sunday. After the service, they decided to meet in a different setting, where they got ice cream and watched tv together. The connection was instant; from a shared love of Whitewater's fine cuisine, to goals they shared for their lives past college, the conversations went on for hours. They continued seeing each other, and made it official in May of that year. Jordan was going into her senior year, and Nick took the scenic route to graduation, working in construction and going to school part time. After Jordan graduated, she moved out to Madison to start her career in Marketing. Nick was still in Whitewater, finishing up his bachelor's degree. COVID then hit, so Nick was able to work full time and take classes online. This is when he moved out to Madison, where they shared a studio apartment. They had a place they could call their own. It was a little tight, but they were in Madison and enjoying the time they were able to spend together. In 2022, they had saved up enough money and were ready to provide their cat with a better life; they bought their first home. It wasn't much, but it was theirs. They went to work renovating it and bringing it in to the 21st century, and after months of hard work, they were ready to show their friends and family. On Halloween, they had their friends come over for a party, and in the kitchen of the home they purchased together, Nick proposed to Jordan. She knew it was coming (her friends didn't have the best poker faces) but she was as excited as Nick to move on to this next chapter in their lives. Now they are going to Hawaii, getting married in Jordan's favorite place on earth, and excited to have their friends and family help them celebrate this big day in their lives.
