How we met...

September 20th, 2017

What has became one of Jordan and Natalie’s favorite story to tell began in a small, Vaselakos Hall dorm room.... One day, Emma (Natalie’s best friend and roommate at the time) came back to the dorm to tell Natalie that she thought she had found the perfect guy for her! Natalie, reluctantly asked for more details about her “perfect match” and after about 20 minutes, she decided that he sounded like a decent guy that she might be interested in. Quicker than Natalie could say anything, Emma had already planned a clever way for the two to meet. Since Jordan was in Emma’s nursing class, she decided to invite him over to study. Little did Jordan know, she had a bit more up her sleeve than the answers to their study questions. After what seemed like forever and a half, Emma called Natalie to her desk to “help settle an argument”. This was the first time Jordan and Natalie met. They’d like to say it wasn’t awkward, but it definitely was! Jordan would barely look at or talk to Natalie and Natalie was very red and shy. However awkward it was, Emma did not let that get in the way of her plan. She ended up getting Jordan to go down to his car to grab something and instead of giving him keys to get back in the building, she made Natalie go with him....and that was the first walk of many the two would take together! #ThanksEmma

Our First Date

September 24th, 2017

After several dad jokes, a few texts sent between the two, and the question Natalie had been waiting for, Jordan and Natalie made plans for their first date! Jordan picked Natalie up in the Vaselakos Hall parking lot and the two headed down the road to Kansas City. On the way down the road the two never had a dull moment. They filled the drive with talk of their likes, dislikes, and everything in between! The fist stop of the date was the movie theater, which took a little longer to get to due to the "detour" Jordan accidentally took. However, the two eventually made it, got their tickets to see, "IT" (Yes, Natalie actually agreed to this. She must have really wanted an excuse to hang out with Jordan). Natalie survived the movie (...barely) and the two made their way to find a bite to eat...but little did Natalie know, Jordan had already planned to take her to Zona Rosa to eat at Granite City. Jordan even had reservations, even though the restaurant was not busy at the time. Dinner was spent enjoying good food and great company! On the way back to St. Joe, the pair had an impromptu karaoke session. Lots of off key notes and laughs were had. When the two got back to St. Joe, Jordan missed another exit. This time, it was on purpose. After driving down a long gravel road, the two ended their date night star gazing.

The “Hunt” is Over

September 8th, 2019

On a normal Sunday afternoon, Jordan asked for Natalie's help finding one of his dad's tools that he had "lost off his work truck". The couple drove out to his family's farm and began looking for the tool. When they arrived, Natalie was very lost when she began looking for the tool that she had no clue about, but was happy to help! Jordan mentioned that he saw a bow target a few yards down that someone must have left out. He decided that since he had his and Natalie's bow in the back of the vehicle, that they should take the opportunity to shoot for awhile. Natalie agreed, but was still concerned about finding the tool! Jordan asked Natalie if she would go figure out what was in front of the target and move it out of the way before they began shooting. She agreed to this task and started toward the target. While walking, Natalie noticed a log with beautiful wild flowers on top placed in front of the target and two arrows crossed. Jordan mentioned that he noticed that one of the arrows was his, but he didn't know what the other one was. Upon closer inspection, Natalie found a pretty blue arrow that had been personally designed by Jordan. This arrow had the four words she had been waiting to hear for 717 days, "Will You Marry Me?" With excitement and shock, Natalie turned around to find Jordan down on one knee with a gorgeous ring in hand!.....and she said, "YES!"
