During Easter week at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Baptist Student Ministries was having their weekly free lunch on campus. Jordan was already there at a full table eating when Mathile and her friend Rebekah walked up to join the free lunch. Mathile decided she wanted to sit at the full table, so when she walked over, Jordan pulled up a chair for her. They talked for a while until the free lunch was over and everyone else was gone. When Mathile and Rebekah went to leave, Jordan asked for their snapchat's. A few days later Mathile invited Jordan to Henosis (their bible study) and the rest is history...

When Jordan first asked Mathile to go on dates with him, they discussed what they would want that period to look like and how they wanted the foundation of their relationship to be laid. With going on dates they really wanted that period to be a time to get to know one another, but also time to listen to the Lord to see if this relationship was something He wanted them to continue. Three dates in, Jordan was ready to make it official, Mathile still needed some more time. One night, Mathile prayed, "God, if this is something you want us to continue and take to the next step, let Jordan bring it up". The following week, Jordan texted Mathile and told her God revealed something to him at his life group that he wanted to talk to her about. A few days later, Jordan said God told him that it was time to take the relationship to the next step and become boyfriend/girlfriend. Mathile was in awe and told him about the prayer she had prayed only the week before. That weekend on 11-03-2018, Jordan asked Mathile to be his girlfriend, SHE SAID YES!

Jordan and Mathile traveled to Marble Falls, Texas for their 3 year dating anniversary. They stayed the weekend at an Airbnb nearby in Lago Vista. On their last night there, they planned to go on a dinner date. After dinner, Mathile suggested they go to a fancy restaurant for dessert. Jordan attempted to talk Mathile out of it due to the fact that he had planned an elaborate, beautiful proposal that was scheduled to happen after dinner. They ended up going to get dessert anyway. After having dessert they headed back to the Airbnb. When they arrived there, Jordan suggested they explore the resort they were staying at. He led Mathile to a beautiful area with a fountain, decorated with lights and a lighted path. Mathile said, "this is so pretty", Jordan responded, "Yeah, I wonder when they set this up". It wasn't until three quarters into the lights when it clicked for Mathile that she was getting proposed to. Jordan gave Mathile the most beautiful speech, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. SHE SAID YES! After that, some of Mathile and Jordan's friends popped out of hiding, hugged, cried, etc. Then Mathile says "I need to call my mom!". Rebekah responded with, "well lets go upstairs and get some food, then you can call her". As Mathile opened the door, everyone screamed "SURPRISE" and the room was filled with Mathile's and Jordan's parents, and more family and friends. Thus, with a surprise engagement, came a surprise engagement party. That night was fill with tears of joy and full hearts. Jordan and Mathile were finally engaged!
