While we originally met back in 2004 as freshmen at St. Joseph-Ogden High School, we don't necessarily count it since we never really talked to each other. We graduated in 2007, went to separate colleges, but life happened and we both found ourselves living in St. Joseph, IL again. We ran into each other at the local gym, The Zone, and after some polite small talk, Jordan asked me out to get dinner and drinks. We went to Seven Saints and the Esquire on a Thursday night in October. We were having so much fun, we ended up staying out until after midnight. He failed to mention that he had to get up at 4am for work the next day! He says it was completely worth it though!!
For Christmas, Jordan bought me a plane ticket to visit my friend Cristina in Houston for an extended weekend. I was supposed to arrive home on Sunday, January 8th around 11pm. Well my flight was delayed for almost two hours, I had to wait another hour at baggage claim once I finally landed, and then there was the two hour drive home from Indianapolis. Needless to say, I was tired and cranky. I ended up getting home around 3am. I was so tired, the rose petals and the candles on the stairs didn't even phase me. I thought for sure Jordan was asleep. It wasn't until I opened the door to our spare room (after I saw that he wasn't in bed) that I realized what was happening. He was standing in the middle of rose petals shaped like a heart, wearing dress pants and a nice button up, holding a box. There were also pictures of us hanging from the ceiling throughout the whole room. I instantly wasn't tired anymore!! And I of course said "YES!"
