In late August of 2009, we were in the same group at New Student Orientation at Northern State University (Go Wolves!) and then found out we were both Music majors! We had the same class schedule, and of course, marching band, so it didn't take long for the two of us to become good friends. Fast forward ten years-we remained close friends and decided to give long distance (Rapid City/Sioux Falls) a try. It didn't take long for us to realize this was going to be the real deal!

We were on a trip to the Portland, OR area and rented a car to drive up Mt. Hood. We were hiking this beautiful trail that ended at some gorgeous waterfalls. It was ironically called "The Enchanted Forrest", and I was having a Disney Princess moment at the top of a waterfall. I quickly swing around to sing a song from Pocahontas when Jordan was on one knee! I was completely surprised!
