We first met through a mutual friend at the pool in Hadley, a neighborhood I lived in. I tried to convince Jonathan to come eat sushi with us at the end of the evening, which he politely declined. Luckily, I saw him the next weekend for the "July Birthday Pool Party" thrown for all the July birthdays in the neighborhood and that is when I made my moves. I was not able to give him my number or socials before he left the party a little early but with enough harassing our mutual friend about him and trying to figure out his socials, I was able to message him and get his number. For our first date he took me to a Fall Out Boy concert.
Jonathan set up a "surprise birthday photoshoot" for my birthday coming up before we flew off to Punta Cana. I was so surprised about the photoshoot and had a feeling it was going to be a proposal but tried not to overthink it. While walking to the first spot with Jonathan I as our photographer was leading the way, I grabbed his hand to hold it and he was shaking so hard. I knew I couldn't let go because then he would know I knew something was up so I acted like I couldn't tell and when we started taking a few photos the photographer had me stand one way with Jonathan behind me. Next thing I know he is telling me this was actually a surprise engagement photoshoot and I turn around to him down on one knee. OF COURSE I said yes, otherwise nobody would be reading this right now.
