Jordan and John met at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Jordan was a Junior and John was just transferred from Hampden-Sydney College as a Sophomore. They met at a band party after a mutual friend put in a good word for John. They later caught up at an off campus party where they reconnected and talked through the night.

Four years ago John sat Jordan down on a bench at Glendale Shoals Preserve in Spartanburg, South Carolina and asked her to be his girlfriend. On July 3rd, 2018 at Bass Lake in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, he sat Jordan down on another bench and asked her to become his wife.
