Although we were forced to no longer hold our wedding event in Mexico with all of you, marriage itself was the most important thing to us and we did just that. On Good Friday Jordan and I booked a cabin through airbnb and left south Florida in a cherry red mustang convertible. Jordan drove us 13 hours and 850 miles to the great smoky mountains of Tennessee where we were engaged one year ago. We were blessed to find the most flexible, kind, and generous wedding vendors to help us with our intimate ceremony and they bent over backwards to help us make this happen. The day of, was nothing short of perfect. We took the top off the mustang, grabbed coffee, and drove into Knoxville to pick up our wedding florals and our cake . The sun was shining and the weather was a perfect. Driving down the interstate with our wedding playlist blasting made us forget about anything else going on outside of our little happy bubble. ..aside from the (MANY) signs along the highway warning us to "GO HOME, STAY HOME"...it just put a grin on our faces and added fire to our spirit of adventure and escape. For us, home is wherever we decided to be. We headed back to our cabin, relaxed, and got ready. Our amazing wedding planner took care of all the details at the wedding venue. Jordan grilled hotdogs on our back patio, we ate them and did shots of Jack before heading out. We arrived at The Magnolia Venue and my breath was taken away. The view of those majestic mountains with that blue sky had us feeling all of God's presence as if He were there..just for US. At the top of that mountain peak we exchanged personally written vows and had the most beautiful ceremony. We drove back to our cabin, wind blowing in my hair and huge smiles on our faces with Bon Jovi's "Livin on a prayer" blasting through the speakers. Waiting for us was a gorgeous candlelit 5 course dinner prepared by a private chef. We ate...we drank... and we talked about our favorite parts of the day. It was perfect. There is a long road ahead of us and we have no idea what the future holds. All we can do is live for now and have faith and hope for what is to come. But wow...what a start to the beginning of this journey..and what an amazing man I have been blessed with to call my husband.
