Jacob and Jordan met during their sixth-grade year at Camerado Springs Middle School. Jordan’s twin sister, Jenna, happened to have science class with Jacob. One day while waiting outside to go into class, Jordan spotted Jacob and instantly told Jenna she needed to get his number for her... and of course, Jenna delivered. A few weeks later, during summer break, Jordan reached out to Jacob, and they started talking… mostly about essential things like their favorite colors and favorite foods. Not long after, they made plans to meet at the movie theater for their first “date.” Their parents met for the very first time right outside the theater before Jacob and Jordan went in to watch Blended, quite the movie choice for two seventh graders. After the movie, they grabbed ice cream at Cold Stone and walked around Town Center, while Jacob happily talked Jordan’s ear off about cars. From seventh grade through sophomore year of high school, they were inseparable. They grew up together, learned from one another, and became best friends in every sense of the word. The summer before their junior year, Jacob and his family moved to North Carolina. While the distance was difficult, they stayed in touch, checking in and texting often, keeping their friendship strong even though they were no longer “dating.” During this time apart, Jacob graduated from high school in North Carolina, started college, and began working. Jordan graduated from high school in California, started community college, and worked as a nanny. Being apart turned out to be eye-opening for both of them, it showed Jacob and Jordan exactly what they wanted out of life: to be side by side. They wanted to share every moment, success, and failure together. In September of 2022, Jordan flew out to North Carolina. Jacob said “see you later” to his incredible family, and together they began a road trip back to California... moving Jacob back. While the decision wasn’t easy, especially leaving family behind, they knew it was the right step toward building their future together. Since then, Jordan and Jacob have moved into their first home, where they’ve started building their life and family with their two kitties, Trixie and Guppy. They love hosting friends, spending quality time with family, paddleboarding in the summer, and cooking together in the kitchen. They’ve faced more ups and downs than most young couples should, but through it all, they’ve stayed hand in hand, coming out stronger and closer every time. Now, with their wedding day right around the corner and dreams of the future ahead, Jordan and Jacob feel incredibly blessed, not only to have each other, but also the village of family and friends who support and love them. They truly are better together than apart and couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter of their lives.
