Let's celebrate our marriage!

On September 7, 2022, Jordan and Gianna crossed paths for the first time at a friend’s concert. Gianna, ever the night owl, was less than thrilled about a 10 p.m. Wednesday show, while Jordan was simply enjoying the music. A casual wave marked their introduction, no words were exchanged, and they parted ways with barely a second thought. Two days later, fate brought them together again. On September 9, 2022, they met officially at a last-minute game night at Gianna’s condo, thanks to their mutual friend Chuck. Jordan showed up and, well, basically never left. Gianna, awkward as ever, tried to flirt by showing Jordan notes on her phone asking about game directions. Jordan didn’t catch on, though he was flirting in his own way. And he was very impressed with her snack spread. After many dates and dinners together, October brought their first day trip to Starved Rock. This was the moment they realized that they had something special. A couple months later, they tested their travel compatibility on a trip to Racine, Wisconsin, with a weekend of intimidating grocery stores, hot tubs in the snow, and an attempted Lord Of The Rings marathon. Gianna was unable to stay awake. When they first met, they each had separate international trips planned. Jordan was heading to Egypt with friends for his first transatlantic trip, and Gianna was embarking on a solo adventure to celebrate her 30th birthday with a bus tour around Ireland. Jordan’s heartfelt Facetime from a hot air balloon over The Nile River—knowing it was Gianna’s top bucket list item—was a highlight. Gianna cried thinking it was the sweetest call she'd ever received. By January 2023, Jordan was only returning to his apartment to replenish his clean clothes, and to bring his favorite essential items back to Gianna’s. After a quick discussion, “moving closer” became “moving in”. Jordan officially changed his address on April 1, 2023, marking exactly one year after Gianna had moved into the single-lady condo of her dreams. The next ten months were filled with joy, building a strong foundation, and re-organizing the condo a few dozen times- Jordan loves going on impromptu scavenger hunts at home! A dream trip to New Zealand made them fall even further in love, as it felt like the last big test of their new relationship. On Christmas Eve, while visiting their nephew Enzo's house, Jordan casually mentioned to his future brother-in-law that he had found the perfect wedding venue. Gianna and Gabi rushed in, and before they knew it, hypothetical wedding plans were in full swing. Marriage wasn't something either of them considered very strongly, and Gianna had even proclaimed that she would "never get married". But in that moment of seeing what could be, they both realized that they were actually just waiting to find the right person. That night, on a drive between family celebrations, they decided to spend their lives together. Gianna, for the first time, envisioned her wedding and dove into planning. Jordan eagerly joined her on venue tours and vendor meetings, seeing Gianna's planning skills firsthand. They opted for a small backyard ceremony with family on October 12th, 2024 and a larger celebration with all their loved ones in March 2025. Jordan officially proposed on March 10, 2024, during a visit to the house in South Haven, MI where they will get married. At first Jordan was deterred by a very thorough tour from the owners and couldn't find the right time inside the house, so he proposed in the car on the driveway of the house to avoid the frigid outdoors. They hugged and cried of joy while they rode to the beach, where Gianna put the ring back in the box, handed it back to Jordan, and suggested "a walk on the beach for no reason at all." Despite the gloomy weather and heavy gales, the moment was perfect, especially when a bystander shouted “YEAHHH!! CONGRATULATIONS!!” just as Jordan finished his proposal. Gianna’s response was a joyful “of course.”
