Jordan and Emily met in 2008 when they worked at the same Target store in St. Louis. While they went to different high schools, they spent countless hours together at work and quickly became friends. After a year and a half of friendship, the potential for more was undeniable. Jordan asked Emily for a first date, and on Super Bowl Sunday, February 7th, 2010, their relationship began. Jordan and Emily dated all spring and summer, through Prom and graduation and the last few months of being kids. They separated after Emily started college hours from home, but stayed in each other’s lives for the next two years. Jordan and Emily spent time together on breaks from school and throughout summers, and after realizing their feelings had never changed, they rekindled for good in July of 2012. For 2 1/2 years they traveled the six hours back and forth between Columbia, MO and Murray, KY. They experienced each other’s campuses, Greek life, and friends, and realized how worth it it was to wait weeks and cross miles for those short weekends together. Both Jordan and Emily moved home to St. Louis in 2014. Emily started nursing school and Jordan his first real job. It was a busy year, but they started and ended their days together commuting to and from the city. Jordan and Emily moved to Soulard together in July of 2016 and have made that first apartment their home ever since.
On February 15th, 2019, in the snow under the St. Louis Arch, Jordan asked Emily to marry him. They enjoyed a celebratory dinner for two, and then went to what their loved ones believed was a surprise party for Emily’s birthday. Jordan and Emily instead surprised everyone with the engagement! Jordan always wanted to celebrate their engagement right away, and Emily had always wanted the privilege of sharing the exciting news with loved ones. Jordan set everything up so that it unfolded exactly as both of them had envisioned. Jordan and Emily have grown up together and grown deeper in love throughout the past twelve years. They are so excited to celebrate their love and start their married life together with family and friends on Friday, August 28th, 2020! Cheers to the future Mr. and Mrs. Baker!
