At the ripe age of 24, David Baker was living in New York City while Jordan Thomas (25) was living across the river in Hoboken. On a cold dreary evening in the winter, David & his cousin Kyle were sitting in the Aviary Cocktail Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in NYC. Kyle said to David, "Let me see your Hinge." Kyle scrolled through and deleted match after match. Kyle, however, encouraged David to chat with one or two women. One of those happened to be Jordan. A few days later, David messaged Jordan to get drinks and Jordan did not respond to David with any haste. Finally, she responded by saying that she would get drinks with David. David did not answer due to prior obligations and figured the timing probably wouldn't work with Jordan. Two weeks later in January 2019, David decided to message Jordan again. This time he led with, "Hey, I really just want to get a drink and talk about Bernardsville." Bernardsville is a town that David knew quite well and just so happened to be the town where Jordan grew up. Jordan agreed to go on a date. January 29th, 2019: It was pouring rain in NYC and everyone knows you almost always cancel your date(s) when it's raining in NYC. Nevertheless, Jordan & David met up at the Bathtub Gin that night. David arrived at the Bathtub Gin before Jordan and suavely paid $2 dollars ahead for Jordan to check her coat. On that first date, they drank G&T's all night and ended the night at the Boom-Boom Room in the Standard Highline Hotel listening to jazz music until 2am. After that first date, they were together for the next 7 days bopping around New York City, and have been together ever since traveling I-95 between NYC, Greenwich, Raleigh & Naples.
