How We Met

October 2019

If you want to be technical, we actually met at a chess club in Columbia, SC. Jordan had been in the club for years, and Darcy was just trying to find something to do since she had been in Columbia for a little over a year, and really didn't have much that she did on her own without her family. Jordan would (and still does at times) be the person that would sometimes be running the sessions, which basically involved trying to keep track of the tournament leader boards. Darcy had just come to see what it was all about, and just happened to sit down and play a game with Jordan, seeing that at that time, she just was fine with playing someone (albeit, someone MUCH better than her) Now...to be extremely technical, Jordan and Darcy had actually met prior to this. To be more specific, it was in the fall of 2011. Jordan was a senior at Presbyterian College, and Darcy a freshman. Now, neither of us knew each other at the time. Darcy sang in choir, and Jordan just happened to hang around with some of the other choir folks, so we would cross paths because of our mutual friends.

First Date

November 2019

Jordan and I had been talking for a few weeks. We would jump online and play chess together. It had pretty much become a daily thing at this point. Both of us had enjoyed comedy, so I had seen a few weeks prior (maybe mid- to late October) that John Crist, a Christian comedian, would be coming to Township Auditorium in November. As the date got closer, and Jordan and I had realized that we had been doing more talking and finding more things in common, we both decided "Hey, this would be fun to go to". Before we knew it, we had both agreed that we wanted to go and see the show. We had both realized that we had the evening free, and both felt like it would be nice to be able to do something here we could get out of our respective places and just enjoy a night of good, clean comedy.

For all the days along the way
