We LOVE going for strolls along the Cliff Walk. It’s gorgeous (and it’s free)! We tend to enter near the Forty Steps at the end of Narragansett Ave. There are many mansions along the Cliff Walk that you can tour and glimpse some old money luxury (that part is unfortunately not free).
This is the spot. Our top spot. Espresso martinis and Hot Dogs. Absurdly good smash burgers and fries. Brunch! Plus some great vegetarian options. There’s something for everyone at Wally’s.
The Landing is by far our FAVORITE spot to go out for drinks and dancing in Newport. They’ve got an indoor/outdoor waterfront vibe with live music on the weekends and space for dancing too. Consider yourself lucky if you catch Timeless, our favorite band in the area.
Shopping and eating galore! You’ll find us at Bowen’s all summer long at one of their many restaurants (especially 22 Bowen’s and Clarke Cooke House), bars (this is where the Landing is), shops (Anchor Toffee for a sweet treat), or even just to take a stroll about.
Newport Vineyard offers both dining and tastings - we think many of their wines tend towards the sweeter side of the spectrum, and we love trying them all out.
Interested in history, a walking trail, skipping rocks, or a gorgeous view of the sunset over the harbor and bridge? This is your place! To do it our style, bring some camp chairs and takeout for sunset.
The Lawn at Castle Hill boasts gorgeous 270 degree views of the water and bridge, plus there are Adirondack chairs where you can grab a drink and relax.
Smugglers is right on the water with some outdoor chairs, indoor/outdoor tables, PLUS its got darts, pool, and other ways to stay entertained while grabbing a drink.
We know it will be October, but if the weather is nice enough for a beach stroll, we recommend Second Beach! (First Beach is great too and a little closer to town)
This is one of our top restaurants in Newport - and a bit of a hidden gem! It is small so you’ll need a reservation.
Our personal favorite coffee/chai/matcha on the island. They’ve got two locations! Another coffee option we’ve tried and liked is Kaffeeology, and there are Dunkin and Starbucks if you like your tried and true caffeination.
Our favorite ice cream spot! There is one on Thames St and one closer to Bowen’s Wharf. Jordan loves the Turtle Cheesecake, and Dan prefers Toasted Coconut.
