Midtown Manhattan is a quick train ride from the Queensboro Plaza N, W lines. Queensboro Plaza is 15 minute walk from the Ravel Hotel and is your main hub for accessing the city (via subway). Navigating New York via subway is a great (and cheap!) way to get around. MetroCards are no longer needed if you have a tap-to-pay feature on your phone, you can simply tap at the turnstyle and head in! One of the first stops will be Central Park! Get off at the 57th St - 7 Av and you will be at the bottom of the park. You can easily pop in and walk around to see the famous Pond or the horse drawn carriages that wait outside. The N + W train will take you to Times Square 42nd st (Broadway shows & bright lights), 34th St Hearld Square (flagship Macys and shopping hub!) These are great places to walk around, take photos and do some shopping. You'll find bigger flagship stores in this area.
The N + W trains will stop at Canal St ( Lower Manhattan: Chinatown, Little Italy and SoHo are accessible neighborhoods from this stop). In SoHo you can find art galleries and smaller boutiques/designer shops. Best place for shopping in my opinion! Grab a meal in Little Italy for some of the best Italian food in the city (and desserts <3) On the W line, stop at 8th St - NYU to see Washington Square Park. This is an iconic park, you'll often see people jumping in the fountain during the summer month and it's always great for people watching! A short walk from here is MacDougal St - a great place to catch stand up at the Comedy Cellar or Village Comedy Club, and again, lots of great food (think more quick bites). The W line will also stop at Whitehall St - South Ferry: Battery Park is a short walk for some green spaces and people watching. You can hop on the Staten Island Ferry here - it is free and you'll pass the Statue of Liberty
