On what seemed like the coldest day in December in 2015, two young people right out of high school fell in love. Too cheesy? Lol. I was in Pearl River visiting my aunt when my cousin, Devan came home with some of his friends,(Jordan being one of them)talking about the bonfire they were going to later that night. Devan asked if i wanted to go and I looked around the room and instantly got shy when Jordan caught my eye. Anyone that knows me knows I am far from shy. I immediately said no I’m okay and that it was too cold out there for me. From the corner of the room you hear “Don’t worry I have a nice jacket that will keep you warm”. BUTTERFLIES instantly when I realized it had come from Jordan. So of course I agreed to go and he gave me his letterman jacket to wear. (Told ya it was cheesy). Later on that night we get to the bonfire that was in the middle of a horse field. As we were walking through the gate, Jordan realized that I had white converse on. He looked at me and said “are you ready?” I said “for what?!” And he picked me up and carried me through the field so I wouldn’t get anything on my white shoes. And the rest was history. We had about a month and a couple weeks together before he left for boot camp. We always like to say that the foundation of our relationship was built on writing love letters back and forth to one another. In the years between meeting and now we have traveled the country, Jordan has traveled the world (a couple times lol), we have been through nursing school and more deployments than I can count. We have been on the best vacations, experienced the best times of our lives but have also experienced loss, hospital stays, long nights apart, and miles away from each other. We are excited to see what God has in store for the rest of our lives together. If you made it to the end of this, we both want you to know that we are so excited for you to celebrate our special day with us. Thank you for being a part of our journey. 🤍
