In January, after church, we found ourselves sitting next to each other at Red Robin, with a big group of friends. But neither of us said anything... I was shy and he was scared! After a few months of awkward interactions at church, Jordan built up the courage to ask me on a date. He took me to my favorite French restaurant and we talked for hours! I remember thinking, "talking to him is so easy... this can't be normal!"... After hanging out a few more times, we both needed some confirmation from the Lord and so we spent a lot of time in prayer, asking Him to speak to us about our relationship. Towards the end of that time, we were at a young adults service together and God spoke very powerfully to both of us in similar ways. When we shared this with each other later that night, we both felt so much peace that this relationship was a gift from the Lord and an answer to prayer! During the rest of the Spring and Summer, we spent a lot of time getting to know each other, our families, and our friends. There have been many other amazing confirmations and answers to prayer along the way. This has truly been the best and most fun season of life! We had both waited for a long time, trusting the Lord to one day bring about the right spouse for each of us, and finding each other this year has been the biggest surprise and best gift of our lives! We are so in love and beyond excited to start our new life together!
I still can't believe how well he pulled this off! The one thing I wanted was for it to be a surprise, and it was the biggest surprise of my life! We went up to Maroon Bells to take family photos, but actually, both our families were in on it! We were hiking up a trail, when we rounded a corner and there were rose petals and candles everywhere that my sister and his mom had set up. All of a sudden everyone had their cameras out! I couldn't believe it was happening! He led me by the hand to a grove of trees, got down on one knee and the rest is history!
