Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who will walk down the isle with us!

Shawna McElroy

Mother of the Bride

Shawna is the mother of the bride. Shawna married her husband on June 19, 1993, she was 19 years old. Shawna and Jay have two children, and three grandchildren. Shawna's oldest is Dustin McElroy. He will be a groomsmen in the wedding, and Jordan is the youngest. Her three grandchildren will also be in the wedding, Bryleigh and Brynlee are going to be the flower girls, and Brantley will be the ring bearer. She has worked for Adams Toyota for 30 years. Shawna has always been by our sides throughout our relationship. She has always been there to help us with decision making or guide us in the right direction. If we need opinions no matter what the situation, Shawna is usually the first call. We enjoy spending the night at their house when we visit from Manhattan! We love to go to wineries, shopping, or just hanging out. Shawna love to have her kids home, and anytime we come in town she is always up for anything! We can't wait to celebrate our BIG day alongside Shawna.

Jay McElroy

Father of the Bride

Jay is the Father of the bride. Jay married his wife Shawna on June 19, 1993, He was 22 years old. Jay and Shawna have two children, and three grandchildren. Their oldest is Dustin McElroy. He will be a groomsmen in the wedding, and Jordan is the youngest. Jay's grandchildren will also be in the wedding, Bryleigh and Brynlee are going to be the flower girls, and Brantley will be the ring bearer. Jay has worked for Ford Motor Company for 28 years. One thing about Jay is he has an addiction, cornhole. Once on a family and friends trip to Colorado, we all decided to play cornhole. Somehow, Jay and Gus got paired up! They thought they had the win in the bag, Gus just had one more throw to win it all. Jay being the competitive person he is, told Gus, "you have 3 options here". This made Gus so nervous, he sank a 3 pointer. This was the only move that WASN'T an option. Gus ended up losing the game for the guys. To this day we still joke with Gus and Jay about this. We can't wait to share our wedding night with Jay! Hope he can hold in those tears!!!

Diana Boos

Mother of the Groom

Diana is the Mother of the Groom. Diana married her husband Micheal Boos on August 19 1995, she was 31 years old. They were married in the United Methodist Church of Peculiar, MO. Diana has four children Kelly, Jonathan, Gus, and Cheyenne. Kelly is the oldest girl, and is a bridesmaid. Jonathan is the oldest boy, and is the Best Man. Cheyenne is the youngest girl out of all the kids. Diana was self employed for 18 years. Diana threw The Kansas City Star for the residents of Peculiar, MO. Gus and his siblings spent years helping Diana with her paper route. On Sundays or holidays, the kids would pile in the van and begin rolling papers. Diana currently works for the Raymore Peculiar School District as a Day Lead Custodian at Peculiar Elementary. She loves to work with the children at school, and enjoys sharing stories about her day with her family. Mom has always been there to check on Jordan and Gus throughout our relationship, and we enjoy going on camping trips with Gus's parents. We are so excited to share this special day with Diana!

Micheal Boos

Father of the Groom

Micheal (Mike) is the Father of the Groom. Mike married Diana Boos on August 19, 1995, He was 35 years old. Mike has three biological children, and one step daughter. They are Kelly, Jonathan, Gus, and Cheyenne. Kelly is Mikes step daughter and the oldest, Jonathan is his oldest boy, and is the Best Man. Cheyenne is his youngest girl out of all the kids. Mike was employed by The City of Raymore for 24 years, before he retired. Mike worked for The City of Raymore in several roles, but the most recent was a Emergency Management Coordinator. Throughout his time with the city, Gus would volunteer with him quite often. Gus enjoyed working at various city events alongside his father. Another thing that we enjoy doing with Gus's father is camping. Mike purchased a camper in , and we love spending time with him swimming at the lake and camping throughout the summers. We can't wait to spend our wedding day with you by our sides!

Shannon Phillips

Maid of Honor

Gus and Shannon have known each other for several years, while I only met her about five years ago. After meeting Shannon, our friendship grew quickly. Shannon is someone both Gus and I can turn to when we need guidance. She is our voice of reason. Someone who we can always calm us down and helps us think decisions through! Shannon is such a sweet, funny, loving, hardworking, and a determined person. Not only do we go to Shannon for life advice, but we also go to her to have a good time. We always love hanging out with Shannon whether it’s a short lunch, a night on the town or a vacation. Gus and I have been lucky to get the opportunity to travel with Shannon numerous times. We have gone to Nashville, Gulf Shores AL, Arkansas, Branson Mo (a few times), Oklahoma and Gus and I visited her a few times in Joplin when she was in college. One of my favorite memories with Shannon is when we were in Gulf Shores. Some of us wanted to go parasailing but Shannon was totally against it! Once we convinced her she didn’t have a choice, she was so brave! She ended up having a blast and even said she would do it again if she had too! This just shows what she would do for her friends! We couldn’t imagine anyone else to be by our sides on this big day!

Jonathan Boos

Best Man

Jonathan is Groom’s old brother. Growing up Jonathan and I have always been close. We shared a bedroom until Jonathan left for college. So, we pretty much know everything about each other. There have been our occasional argument or fight, but we always managed to get over it and get along. Some of my most cherished memories of Jonathan where throughout Boy Scouts. Jonathan and I always camped together and went to summer camp for ten days every summer. Jonathan was successful with his football career, in high school and college. I always tried to go to his games in High School. I don’t believe I missed one. Then, Jonathan moved to college. That was hard. I hadn’t been away from him for that long, so my family went to visit often. Jonathan continued schooling and went on to get his Master’s in Accounting at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO. After moving back home Jonathan got married in May of 2021. Jonathan has been extremely successful in his personal and professional life. Jonathan is always someone I will look up too. I am so excited to have my brother stand beside Jordan and I on this huge day.

Brandi Layson

Bridesmaid

Brandi is Dustin’s girlfriend, (hopefully someday sister-in-law.) She is also the mother of our adorable two nieces and handsome nephew. We’ve shared some fun times in the last several years. Every time Brandi and I hang out our friendship grows. I think of her as the sister I never had. Brandi joined us on the McElroy Family vacation to Colorado in May of 2022. During this trip we were able to see a different side of Brandi. She was very open and funny in the stories she shared. Brandi is a great sport especially when it comes to joking. When you tease Brandi, you better expect her to give it right back! One of my favorite things to tease her about is when she tried to show off her old cheerleading skill, let’s just say she is a little rusty… She broke her wrist trying to land a backflip. Brandi is a caring and kind mother who would do anything for her kids. I am honored to have Brandi, Dustin and their three kids to celebrate our big day!

Dustin McElroy

Groomsman

Dustin is the bride’s older brother. Jordan always shared stories of times when Dustin and her family went on vacation. They always went to the beach. At the beach, Dustin would go way out in the middle of the ocean, and Jordan didn’t want to be a weakling so of course she had to follow. One time, Dustin even swam around chasing a lobster just to catch it. He was NOT successful! February 2022, Dustin, his girlfriend, and I came to Manhattan, KS to visit Jordan at college. I had never really hung out with Dustin until then, he was hilarious. I didn’t realize how comical he could be. All I ever saw Dustin’s quiet side. He really opened and was a blast. Then later that summer, we went to Colorado for a family trip. We had so much fun on the mountain side adventuring and playing games. This is where I proposed to Jordan, I was so grateful I got to share the moment with him. Jordan and I are so excited to have him, Brandi, and their three children, stand by our sides for this special moment.

Britny Hudson

Bridesmaid

Britny is the groom’s cousin. I met Britny not long after I started dating Gus. Thursdays at Hot Country Nights were always a blast with the crew, but I always thought man, Gus has some crazy (but fun) cousins. Britny and I’s friendship quickly escalated once we realized we are very similar people. We are both adventurous with a warped sense of humor and like to have a good time. Every time we are around Britny, we have the best of times! Some of my favorite memories with Britny would be either all the times at Hot Country Nights, or our trip to Nashville and Guld Shores. Britny is always up for my crazy ideas, whether it’s getting a tattoo on vacation, stealing boats (it was only the dinghy), or just having some drinks at any time. She is one of our favorite people to vacation with, or just hang out with. Britny is genuinely a fun, family loving and spontaneous individual. She likes to spread her love and cheer with others. I couldn’t imagine not having her standing with us on our wedding day.

Clayton Reed

Groomsman

Clayton is one of my true friends. I got to know Clayton while working for the Public Works Department at Raymore. Clayton and I worked well together, while sharing musical tastes, mostly our newest favorite songs, or video clips of comedies. Clayton is always an upbeat person. He is always talking to someone loudly or laughing hysterically at social media videos. Jordan and I always enjoyed hanging out with Clayton after work for food, drinks, and laughs. During the summers, Clayton and his family opened their homes to us. I began traveling to his mom and stepdad’s house at the Lake of the Ozarks. This was always an amazing weekend getaway. We would ride the jet skis, go to his step dads restaurant, visit with his family, or just chill around the lake. I couldn’t ask for a better friend! I’m so grateful to have Clayton as a member of my wedding party!!

Kelly Spencer

Bridesmaid

Kelly is the older sister of the groom. Gus has shared memories when he always looked up to Kelly. He’s told stories of when Kelly lived on her own and would come visit him and his siblings. Kelly would spoil them with ring pops. As Gus has gotten older, he sees a resemblance between the two of them. Kelly and Gus are always the first to step in and take care of someone in need. Whether that’s a family member or a friend. Kelly was one of Gus’s first family members I met. She knows how to host a New Year’s Eve party and make everyone feel welcome. The first New Year’s Eve I spent with Kelly was so much fun! We have so many memories from that night. We still enjoy hanging out with her and her fiancé Jon when we come into town. Kelly is always up for adventuring with Gus and I. We like to go to the casino, look at Christmas lights, bowling, or just sitting around a bonfire drinking together. I can wait for Kelly to stand with us, and gain Kelly as a sister.

Haley McNerney

Groomswoman

Gus met Haley while working for the City of Raymore. Our friendship grew quickly, as we were the new bees of the crew. Our friendship has continued to grow years after working together! Haley is always one of the first people I think to call when making big decisions, or when I have exciting news to share. Haley is a fun, sweet, outgoing, creative, and has a very blunt personality! While Haley was the only women in the parks department, she sure gave us guys a run for our money! Haley knew me when my relationship with Jordan was just beginning. I can remember her teasing me and joking about how much I loved Jordan. I would just blush and smirk and say “Noooo”, which truly I meant “Yesssssss!” I worked with Haley for a few years before she decided to become a Texan. This was truly heartbreaking for me because at that time I only had a couple of good friends. Before she left, she made a bet with me, she said, “You’ll be engaged in less than two years!” I said, “No”, and started cheesing like crazy. There were several of my coworkers in agreement with her. Well, Haley was correct (as women always are)!! I proposed to Jordan just before the two years where up. I am so blessed to have Haley as a friend. I’m so honored to have Haley stand by my side as a GROOMSWOMEN on my special day! (Oh, and Jordan loves her because she always sides with her during a difference of opinions!)

Bryleigh Shanahan

Flower Girl

Bryleigh is our oldest niece. She is 9 years old! She is the daughter of Brandi and Dustin

Brynlee McElroy

Flower Girl

Brynlee is our youngest niece. She will be 5 in June 2023. She is the daughter of Brandi and Dustin!

Brantley McElroy

Ring Bearer

Brantley is our only nephew! He will be 4 in September 2023. He is the son of Brandi and Dustin!

Willow Marie

Dog Of Honor

Willow is a 3 year old border collie mix. Gus and Jordan adopted her April of 2021. She is the goofiest, loving, ball of energy! We are lucky to have her as our pup and to help us celebrate our big day!
