We met during our sophomore year at Howard University. Ashlei, with her maid of honor Jae, became managers of the University's soccer team and eventually met Jordan. Ashlei and Jordan became fast friends and on a cold October night, started dating and have been together ever since!

Jordan set up a "surprise" picnic in New Orleans City Park right under one of the famous oak trees. He was so nervous he barely let Ashlei sit down before he gave her a bottle of her favorite drink (champagne) engraved with "Ashlei, Will You Marry Me?" As soon as she said "YES!" some of their closest friends and family came out of hiding to celebrate. Afterward, we all went to one of our favorite bars, Wrong Iron, for drinks and crawfish and later on a Mardi Gras parade. It was pretty much the quintessential New Orleans proposal!
