August 16, 2014 We’re a slow burn kind of love story. We swiped right when Andrew was living in San Francisco and I was home from college for the summer. Andrew was one of my first matches and we clicked instantly—our first date was over 8hrs long! We went on a couple dates, but I wanted to just remain friends because we were both in different places in our lives literally and figuratively. Then, Andrew moved to New York. But over the next 5 years, we’d slowly become best friends, despite still living on opposite sides of the country. We talked all the time, and told each other everything. When Andrew moved back to California, we started visiting each other. Andrew’s feelings came back, and after seeing us together, my friends were convinced I had feelings for him, too, and I was just in denial (they were absolutely right). Now here we are, still best friends and getting married almost 8 years after that first date!

July 16, 2021 My initial plan was to propose in the Villa Borghese Gardens in Rome. Unfortunately due to Covid, that got postponed. Fortunately, we had planned a trip to Seattle in July 2021 to visit our friends Tony and Marina. I knew I wanted to propose on a trip, so this was a perfect time. I made a sneaky plan with our friends to propose at the top of the Little Si hike. I got more and more nervous as we approached the summit. When we had a spot to ourselves at the top, I got down on one knee, Jordan yelled “NO!” (in surprise—it never occurred to me she might mean no to the question), I almost fell off the rock, started crying and forgot what I was going to say. It all went perfectly to plan.
