JJ and I have known each other for what feels like forever. We met in middle school, you know, back in the days when we were both looking our best and no questionable fashion choices were made. We were always just friends and hung out often throughout high school. After graduating from Milton, we moved in different directions while maintaining mutual friends. While our paths SHOULD have crossed several times throughout college, we did not reconnect until 2017. (Shout out to Emily & Erin for always celebrating their birthdays' in style; I always requested off work to ensure I was there to celebrate and I am so glad 2017 was no exception.) Once we finally got together in February 2017, the real fun began! After JJ got the stamp of approval from my dog, friends, and family, I knew he would be stuck with me forever. We purchased a house and closed in early December 2018 and were determined to be settled for Christmas. Christmas morning, we were not quite as settled as we would have liked, but that did not stop J from proposing in our new home with both of our families! We can't wait to continue our journey together and get married in 2020!
Jordan purposed on Christmas morning (my favorite holiday) in our new home! We closed on our first house on 12/3/18 and started some minor renovations before moving in. In the midst of the reno, moving, and still working full time, I didn't have the space in my brain to even think about getting engaged. In fact, shortly after closing on the house, we discussed waiting to get engaged. Little did I know, Jordan changed his mind just days after, thinking "what am I waiting for?!" Luckily for him, his lovely mother had already scoped out some rings and they went together to pick one out. On Christmas morning, I could not have been more difficult! Jordan was up and at 'em, while I wanted to sleep in... Jordan was putting on jeans, so I reluctantly changed out of my PJs ... Jordan was ironing a shirt, so I finally put on some mascara. All the while thinking "What's the big deal?". My mom tried to help keep me upstairs so JJ could set up one of the downstairs room with romantic Christmas decor. Finally, we came downstairs and I turned a corner for the best surprise of my life; Jordan purposing in front of both our families, in our brand new home together. I can hardly remember what he said to me, but my answer was clear: "YES!" through my tears (duh) of joy! I couldn't have asked for a better engagement and I can't wait to become a Jackson in July 2020!
