Yes. Yes we are.
We take the health and safety of our guests incredibly seriously. We have both been vaccinated and so has the majority of the guests on our guest list. If you are a guest that will not be fully vaccinated by the time of the wedding, we respectfully request that you get a negative Covid-19 test before attending our event. Just to be extra safe. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Please RSVP by JANUARY 17th, 2022 (1/17/22). You can either RSVP by mail or online. If you already know you cannot make it, please let us know as soon as possible.
Semi-formal cocktail attire! Dressy enough for pictures, comfortable enough to dance and have fun. Some recommended outfits are cocktail dresses, suits and ties, and please consider bringing something warm for after dark. It gets chilly at night, but the buildings will be heated. For women's shoes, we are recommending flats, wedges, or a thicker heel. The venue is a historical site in the mountains.... It's not exactly flat and there are some imperfections in the stairs and paved walking areas. Just something to be mindful of. *You don't have to wear green just because it's St. Patrick's Day, though you are certainly welcome to if you want to.*
At an elevation of 4,226 feet above sea level, Julian is generally cooler than the rest of the San Diego area, especially during the winter and early spring. In fact, it can even still snow up in Julian in March and into April (though not as likely). During the day, the average temperature is around 55-65 degrees. At night, it can get into the 30's. Most of our event will be indoors or have access to an indoor space. The only exception is that if the weather is nice, we plan on having our short ceremony outside. California tends to do whatever it feels like so we will update you with a more predictable weather forecast as we get closer to the big day. UPDATE: The weather for the big day is supposed to be mainly sunny with a high of 66 degrees and a low of 40 degrees. We recommend a warm jacket for when it gets chilly at night.
Try to arrive around 3:45 to 4pm. Give yourself time to valet your car, sign our guest book, and find a seat. Our ceremony starts at 4:30 and due to our tight schedule, we'll be starting on time.
There will be a valet service at the venue with handicap spots available. The valet service is free for our guests.
Because we have kids with short attention spans attending, we are keeping our ceremony short and sweet. It should be less than 30 minutes from start to finish. After the ceremony, guests can enjoy a refreshment while we snag a few pictures. Dinner and dancing to follow.
Yes, our ceremony and reception are at the same location.
If your invitation specifies “and guest”, you can bring your spouse or significant other. If it doesn’t, we ask that you just bring yourself.
We will have some children at the ceremony and reception, but they will either have a close relationship with the bride and groom or be direct close relatives. We are encouraging guests to find a sitter for your littles so you can have a night off and let loose with us. If you cannot arrange a sitter, reach out to us.
Technically yes, but the property is a historic site and the wheelchair accessibility was added decades later... Optimists would describe it as "the scenic route". There are also safety railings on all stairways.
Yes! The town of Julian is tiny, but there are several bed and breakfasts, inns, and airbnb's in the area. Jordan has gone ahead and booked ALL of the rooms at the establishments listed on our TRAVEL page. Check out that page for more information. *Rooms are not prepaid, just blocked.* The block terms and conditions vary between establishments. Prices per room vary. We recommend calling sooner rather than later to book your rooms, especially if you are in need of specific accommodations. The block expires on 2/14/22 and all unreserved rooms will become public again.
Yes! There is a gas station off Main Street close to Julian Lodge.
Yes, there will be alcohol available during cocktail hour and the reception. Cocktail hour is on us, but the rest of the night is going to be a cash bar. Last Call will be at 9:30 pm. We understand we picked a drinking holiday as our wedding day. We want our guests to have fun, but we also want everyone to be safe. PLEASE DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.
Our venue offers a farm to table menu for the dinner that will be served "Family Style". Based on our demographic, we will not have any vegetarian or vegan meal options at our wedding unless you reach out ahead of time to ask for a special plate. Due to allergy concerns we will NOT be serving anything with seafood, shellfish, or nuts/peanuts during dinner. However, our dessert is from a different vender and we have to double check about having no nuts with our dessert. We will be serving all of the following options for our adults guests during dinner: -Strawberry Baby Kale Salad -Santa Maria Tri-Tip -Gruyere Stuffed Parmesan Chicken -Yukon Gold whipped Mashed Potatoes -Pancetta French Green Beans For Kids we will be serving: -Spaghetti and Kosher Beef Meatballs
There are no vegan or vegetarian options at the moment. If you need one, please reach out BEFORE the wedding so we can get you a specialty plate.
Yes, we have a few people attending the wedding with very serious food-related allergies. We will not serve anything with peanuts, tree-nuts (of any kind, including coconut), or seafood. If you have an allergy that hasn't already been listed, please let us know.
If you are bringing a child under 3, the venue has approved parents bringing food for their children (babies and young picky eaters might not enjoy our menu). Same with formula and Juice. For older kids ages 2 or older, we are offering spaghetti with kosher beef meatballs. We have a particular eater ourselves and try to pick something that is familiar and on the plainer side so everyone can enjoy dinner. The venue has a SUPER strict “no outside alcohol” policy. We have been informed that they will remove guests who break this policy. Please DO NOT bring any outside alcohol to the venue. Trust us, we aren't exaggerating. Just don't do it. We are having an after party at our Airbnb. You can bring alcohol there.
We are incredibly blessed and already have all the things we need to start off our life together. We decided to not have a wedding registry. We understand that some friends and family are still going to be generous and want to give something, so we have created a honeymoon fund on this site. We're going to Ireland and Scotland! If you would like to contribute to the fund, check out the registry tab or reach out to us directly. We appreciate it and will share all of our shenanigans with you when we come back!
Yes! We would love to see all the fun pictures and videos that get captured on our special day. We even have a hashtag (that's still cool, right?). #PuebLove We just ask that our ceremony stays "unplugged". We've hired professionals to capture the moment for us and would like our guests to be fully present.
Because Julian is a rural area, Uber and Lyft drivers aren't readily available. We understand that this has become a staple for people getting home or to hotels safely. Please plan accordingly and drink responsibly.
Only invited guests can see the schedule. If you are an invited guest, you must type in your name the way it appears on your invitation to RSVP and see the schedule.
