We met through our good friends in Dallas after both graduating from Texas A&M. We didn't know each other at school, but thankfully met some of the same people during our time in College Station. The sparks flew when our friends invited us separately to the State Fair in fall of 2017. Dave asked me to a Mavs game a few days later and we have been inseparable ever since.

Dave told me we were going to his parents' to celebrate his sister's graduation from SFA. I was really excited because I just bought a pair of green shorts from Target that I thought would be perfect, but when Dave told me his mom wanted us to dress up for family pics, I hedged my bets and wore the fanciest sundress I owned. On the way over to his family's house in Plano, Dave was really quiet. At the time, I thought traffic was stressing him out so I helped by saying "Dave we better take some pics tonight because we look GOOD" which hindsight being 20/20, didn't help that much. We parked in the back at his parents' house because his mom called and said the front door was sticking. The call was on speaker in the car. I found out later, Dave rehearsed this conversation with his mom a few times to make sure it sounded natural. Since the door was "sticking", we walked through the back courtyard area to get in the house. In the courtyard, there were pictures of us and flowers everywhere and a fountain (the fountain was already there and was not purchased for the big question) so I knew what was happening!! Then he said really sweet things and proposed and I immediately said YES! When we walked in the house, both of our families were there and we had the best meal together to celebrate.
