We’re getting married!

Hi all! We have rooms blocked for Friday August 29th through Tuesday September 2nd. There are double beds and single bed options. **If at any point it says we are out of a certain room prior to August 2nd, PLEASE LET US KNOW and the hotel will add more.** The last day to use our link is August 2nd. If you plan to stay any days outside of these dates, please call the hotel to assure they give you our rate for Friday to Tuesday during your booking.

On January 9th, 2025, at the top of Victoria Falls, Zach got down on one knee and proposed to Mackenzie with his grandmother's ring. It was the final leg of their trip to Africa that they had spent with Zach's parents. They had taken a hot air balloon ride, fed monkeys, rode elephants, chased waterfalls and scenic views, rafted the Mighty Zambezi River, walked with lions, made friends with Fuji the cheetah, and saw the Big Five out in the wild. Not once did Mackenzie think this would be the trip when Zach proposes. The adventure of the day was the swim in the Devil's Pool, a natural infinity pool at the top of Victoria Falls. They swam through the Zambezi River, where their guides led them to Devil's Pool. They each had the opportunity to sit at the edge of the falls and hang off of the waterfall with the guides holding their ankles. The morning was sunny and the waterfall was incredible, even giving them a rainbow. After their swim and many pictures at the top of the falls, they had wonderful meal looking out to the Victoria Falls National Park and the stretch of falls. When it was their time to return to the boat, Zach insisted him and Mackenzie go back to take more photos at the edge of the falls. The guides almost didn't let them, but Zach persisted and led Mackenzie back to where they had been earlier at the top of the falls. It was further down this walk that Mackenzie caught on that Zach might be proposing but she didn't believe it until he did get down on one knee and ask her to marry him. Zach will say that Mackenzie didn't say "yes" exactly. And Mackenzie will say that she definitely remembers saying "put the ring on my finger!!" They spent their last few days in Africa newly engaged in Victoria Falls, Zambia; Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe; Botswana, and South Africa. Truly a trip of a lifetime!
