Jono and Sarah met during a curling event in the winter of 2018. It was February 9th and Jono was working the "Curling & Craft Beer" event for GetKnit Events at the Frogtown Curling Club. They had hired Blue Door Pub to do the catering for the event and provide delicious Blucys for all the hungry curlers. From the moment Sarah walked into the curling facility to set-up, Jono knew she was someone special. Sarah has a way of recognizing people and making everyone feel noticed, welcomed, and cared for. Jono saw how much she loved people and quickly found himself attracted to this woman and wanted to know more about her. Over the course of the night, the two of them talked a lot and realized they had quite a lot in common. At the end of the night, Jono helped Sarah carry her supplies to her car, but he was too nervous to get her number. He went home and told his roommates about the amazing woman he met and how he messed it up by not doing anything about it. As it turns out, Sarah also left the event feeling a connection. A few weeks later she asked her coworkers about the "GetKnit guys" and after finding out more about him decided to start following Jono on instagram - at the very least he had a cute dog that he liked to post pictures about. Jono immediately started following Sarah back. After a few weeks of this, Jono decided to take a leap and sent her a facebook message: "I don't know how we didn't know each other in undergrad. We have quite a few friends in common!" It didn't take long for Sarah to respond. They soon realized that not only did they have a lot of friends in common, but they had crossed paths many times before, including at a Halloween party back in 2011. Jono knew he wanted to know more about this woman, so he asked Sarah out on a date near the Mississippi River. That began a summer of a lot of adventures for them and by the end of the summer, they realized they didn't want those adventures to end. And so their story as a couple began.
