FAQs

The Wedding Website of Brittany Houston and Jonny Kostiuk
Question

Are there cheaper options available outside of the resort?

Answer

Yes! The resort is on Bastimentos Island on red frog beach. The area is shared with two other accommodations called Salina Red Frog and Palmar Beach lodge. These accommodations share the same space as the resort and are much cheaper. They are great options for people to book - as well as hostels, airbnbs and hotels all throughout the island. Question

What’s the food situation like?

Answer

Within the Red Frog area of Bastimentos where most will be staying, there are 4 different restaurants and 1 grocery/convenience store. The villas at Red Frog all have kitchens which is a nice option for those wishing to cook. If the plan is to cook, we recommend picking up groceries in Bocas for more options at a cheaper price.

Question

How do we get around?

Answer

The main form of transportation is by boat with water taxis available at all times, making it easy to explore the neighbouring islands. The water taxi from the resort to Bocas Del Toro is $7 USD per person. Panama uses USD currency and we recommend taking out small bills prior to arriving. There are also trails and beaches all over Bastimentos, accessible by trail or boat. If staying at the resort, especially in one of the higher-up villas, we do recommend getting a golf cart as the property is quite vast and the sun is HOT.

Question

Flight path suggestions?

Answer

Check out Sky Scanner if you are having issues with finding a flight to Panama City https://www.skyscanner.ca/ If flights seem too expensive, try booking the flight in two separate trips. The first leg book a round trip to LAX, Houston, Mexico City, or Miami. Then on the 2nd leg, book from that city to Panama City (PTY). The next airline option on that 2nd leg is Copa Airlines which is the main airline from Panama City, and is a member of star alliance. There are loads of options there
