We met during freshman band camp. He was a sophomore and I was a freshman. We slowly got to know each other during the 2001 marching season. It was during our time getting ready for the 2002 Rose Parade, that we really got to know each other. That's when we decided to give "us" a try. Even with going our separate ways after high school, we still managed to keep in touch and be there for each other these past 18 years. On his birthday last year, we addressed the "elephant" in the room and decided that we were meant to be together.

Wanting to propose at midnight, Rob sent me on a scavenger hunt through the house. Ben was in charge of filming the whole thing, or so I thought. After reading the final, clue I turned around and he was on one knee in our now family room. Shocked and surprised, I instantly said yes. To make it even better, I heard my best friend say " hi dude" Knowing how much I wanted my best friend to be there, Rob had Ben pretend to be filming! He was actually video chatting with her the whole time! As she put it " she was sitting there like a child waiting for her divorced parents to finally get back together"
