It all started with a swipe. On Super Bowl Sunday in February 2020, Kevin was glued to the game, but when he saw he’d matched with a cute girl on Hinge, he couldn’t resist sending her a message. Jonida just so happened to be hosting her own party, so they started talking about the game and swapping stories about each other’s parties. It was the start of something way better than any touchdown. A week later, we had our first date at a comedy show. When the usher offered us front row seats, we looked at each other and thought the exact same thing, “let’s not get roasted tonight.” Our laughs created an instant connection, and after talking more, we both knew we’d found something special. Through a combined love for traveling, trying new restaurants, and above all—doing things, we became each other's go-to person, navigating life hand in hand. During a very unprecedented few years in the world, the one thing we were consistently sure about was each other. From runs through Golden Gate Park, to the “JK Cooking show” where we’d try new dinner and cocktail recipes every week, to outside adventures in Joshua Tree National Park and Arnold, it was inevitable, we couldn’t stop ourselves falling. In our 4.5 years of dating, we moved in together, traveled to 10 US states, 5 countries, and made countless memories, many alongside our wonderful family and friends (that’s you!). Without a doubt, our trip to Paris was the most unforgettable. It was a bright, sunny summer morning, and we had just enjoyed a delicious croissant for breakfast (#wheninParis). Kevin was acting so calm and casual that I didn’t suspect a thing. I remember thinking “he keeps checking the train times, he really wants to see Notre-Dame.” As we walked over the Pont Neuf bridge, Kevin suddenly stopped and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! Join us this spring as we say "I do" and kick off the next phase of our life together. We are SO excited to celebrate with all of you!
