Rob and I both went to the Downtown Chowdown at Capitol Mall in October of 2018. Rob was there with Trenton and Daxton and I was there with Gina and my family. Gina and I were making one of our many trips to the bar to get our next drink and met Rob in the bar line. I was curious about the orange drink he was drinking, so he offered me some! I reluctantly took a sip (thinking I shouldn't be drinking from a strangers drink). Rob will tell you I stole his drink haha. We then went our separate ways, each of us thinking how we wish we would have talked a little longer. A short while, we bumped into each other again. Rob invited us to join him and his friends at Vito's pizza for dinner. After dinner we spent few hours at Pine Cove Bar (which was where Rob's parents had their first date). We both had such a fun night with each other. Before we went our separate ways, Rob asked me out for a date later that week! The rest was history!
Christine, my parents and I took a trip to Lake Tahoe in late August. Christine thought it was just an end of summer trip. I had planned to go boating the first day and hiking the next. We had had many talks about a proposal, but Christine did not think it was coming on this trip. Tahoe has always been one of my favorite places. Skiing with my dad at Homewood, boating, and many 4th of Julys...it is a special place for me. On our 2nd day, I planned to hike up Homewood ski resort because of its beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. I had been there when it was snowing, but had never seen the same view in summer. I thought this was the perfect place to propose to Christine!. As we started the hike, we were immediately out of breath, thinking about turning around, and wondering why we were doing this hike? We continued on, laughing at each other and having fun. When we made it to the top, we sat down and enjoyed the view. Little did Christine know, I had the ring in my backpack that I had. When we decided we were ready to go, I popped the question!! I asked Christine "Do you love me?" She replied "Yes!" I then asked "Do you love me enough to spend the rest of your life with me?" She turned around to find me on one knee with a ring box in my hand. She didn't think it was real. She said "YES" and started to cry. We spent the remainder of the day sharing the news with our friends and family, and as one last surprise, Christine's parents joined us for a dinner at Sunnyside!
