FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive 45 minutes beforehand in order to be in your seats 30 minutes before the ceremony starts. While you're waiting, you can admire the ceremony decor, listen to prelude music, read your ceremony program, and acknowledge other guests. The venue does have accessible options.

Question

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be a time gap between the ceremony and reception. The ceremony should be finished by 1:30 pm. Guests will have to leave the ceremony area as there will be other couples getting married in that spot later in the day. Cocktail hour will start at 4:15 pm at the restaurant, and the reception will start at 5:15 pm. In the meantime, between the ceremony and reception, you are welcome to explore the Dow Garden's grounds or the Midland area.

Question

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?

Answer

The reception ends at 11 pm and there will be no after-party.

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will be outdoors at Dow Gardens in Midland, MI. The wedding reception will be indoors at a local restaurant called Tuscany Banquet Hall.

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Kindly RSVP by June 16th

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to cost, not everyone on our guest list will receive a plus one. Plus one's will be listed on the invitation.

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

We love your kiddos and are excited to welcome them to attend our wedding. Your invitation will indicate whether your kids have been invited. We will not be providing childcare or babysitting for your kids, so we kindly ask that you be mindful of their actions during the wedding celebration. Kids are welcome to enjoy the food options available to adults. This will be things like pasta, cheese sauce, and more! If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is formal/semi-formal. For men, this might look like khaki pants and a button-up long or short-sleeved shirt. A tie is not required but could add a nice touch. For women, this might look like a mid-length or knee-length hemline with patterns such as floral or embellishments. For more information on what this dress code might look like, check out the website below. https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-semi-formal

Question

Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card?

Answer

We invite you to RSVP online using the "RSVP" tab on this website.

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

We are working hard to coordinate room blocks for out-of-town guests. We will announce this information as soon as possible.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will have a selection of Beer, Wine, and Cocktails for our guests to enjoy. We ask that you bring cash or a credit card to pay for your drinks as it will not be an open bar.

Question

Am I allowed to smoke?

Answer

Dow Gardens does not allow smoking at their establishment. The restaurant during the reception allows smoking in the parking lot or in your car.

Question

Could you give me a link to your wedding registry?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can find our registry on our website under the "Registry" tab. You can have it delivered to our home. A wedding card box will be at our reception.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We have hired an amazing photographer to capture our special day. We have put our trust in a professional, and in order to ensure she is able to do her job to the best of her ability, we ask that no one take pictures using a phone or personal camera during the ceremony.
