It was a hot sunny day in Toledo, OH. Megan and her mom went up to the Toledo Speedway to watch the ARCA race that a family friend, Chad was racing in. Megan and her mom went to Chad's race car out on the track during the autograph session to say hi and look at his car. It was that moment that Richie and Megan met each other. That September of 2012, Megan moved to Charlotte, NC for school which was where Richie lived. October of 2012, Richie had reconstructive hip surgery which put him not at the race track for 4 months. It was then that Richie and Megan spent a lot of time together and became best friends. The rest is history! Seven years later, and they get to say "I Do"!

Every year Richie and Megan go up to Conesus Lake for a week so they can spend time with Richie's family that live in New York. It was a rainy Saturday when friends and family were arriving to the cottage to start the week long party. Megan's mom even drove up from Ohio to spend a few days there (Megan thought Richie just invited her to be able to spend some extra time with her, but in reality he had a different plan!) It was the evening of July 21st when everyone was just hanging out and catching up. The boys (Richie, Zane and Kevin) went on a "grocery" run to get a few things. Ironically, Kristina and Megan couldn't get ahold of any of them because they all left their phones at the house so Megan was starting to get annoyed that they weren't back yet because she was 8months pregnant and very hungry (little did she know, Kristina knew something she didn't). The boys arrived back about 2 hours later, with no food for Megan. The night went on, it was still raining outside so everyone was inside talking and drinking. It was then, that Kristina turned off the lights and started showing Megan an app on her phone that shows the constellations in the sky. Richie walked up to Megan's back, tapped her on the shoulder, she turned around and Richie started saying "With all my friends and family here", started kneeling down and pulling the ring box out of his pocket and it was that moment, Megan realized what was happening and she lost it and started crying uncontrollably (emotions are 10x worse when pregnant). It took a few minutes for Megan to get it together and for her to stop crying long enough to say "YES!" It was the most beautiful proposal even though it didn't go as planned due to rain but Richie pulled it off and Megan then realized why the grocery run took so long. Everyone cheered with a toast of champagne. Megan loved that it happened surrounded by friends and family, especially her mom!
