FAQs

Site will continue to be updated as details are finalized - reach out if you have any questions in the meantime!
Question

What do I wear to the wedding events?

Answer

Welcome Party is smart casual. Wear your cowboy boots if you have them! Wedding is black tie optional: we encourage tuxedos and floor-length gowns, but dark suits, formal cocktail dresses, and dressy jumpsuits are also perfectly acceptable.

Question

Are my kids invited? Do I get a plus-one?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate the number of seats we’ve reserved in your honor.

Question

Is transportation provided for the Welcome Party?

Answer

Guests will need to drive or take a Lyft/Uber to the Welcome Party at Armadillo Palace, and we will have valet parking on premises. The "Houston Recs" page of our wedding website has several restaurant suggestions that are a close walk or drive to the Welcome Party, so we’d recommend eating at one of those on your way over!

Question

Is transportation provided on the wedding day?

Answer

There is no wedding day transportation, as Hotel ICON is around the corner from the wedding venue and across the street from the afterparty. Lyfts/Ubers are readily available in Houston if you choose to stay elsewhere. We’d recommend calling a Lyft/Uber back to your hotel if you're not staying across the street at Hotel ICON, as downtown Houston doesn't get much foot traffic late at night. We will have valet parking for local guests who choose to drive.

Question

What's Houston like in October?

Answer

Depends... did the Astros make the playoffs? Weather-wise, expect high 70s-to-mid-80s during the day, and mid-to-high 70s at night. It'll be less humid compared to summer, but don't expect a huge temperature drop when the sun goes down. You'll probably only need your jacket for the Houston air conditioning. Houston weather is notoriously unpredictable, so please check the forecast before you pack - that being said, the entire wedding is taking place indoors, so don't worry too much about dressing for the weather!
