We met on the esteemed dating app, Tinder. After messaging each other for a bit about guacamole and Twin Peaks, we met for the first time in August of 2017. We spent some time getting to know each other before deciding to commit to a relationship in January of 2018. Jessica had just started school at UC Davis, and Rena had recently moved to Sacramento working full-time for the CA Energy Commission. We bonded over a love of cooking and bad movies, and officially moved in together in 2019. Since then, we have supported each other through various life changes. A pandemic, Jess's graduate school, Rena's transition, all while solidifying the love we feel for each other. Currently, we are living in Sacramento with our cat Jinks and our dog Chester. We enjoy collecting vinyl records, cooking, going to Kings games, and caring for (too many) houseplants.

Rena: When I first met Jessica, I thought I had her pegged. After our initial meeting, I quickly learned that she is a woman with many sides who possesses many talents, and she impressed me early on with her directness and emotional intelligence. Everywhere she goes, she lights up the room, and while she has touched the lives of many, I feel so lucky that she has chosen me. While I have gone through many changes during our relationship to say the least, we have grown together in new and exciting ways, and our bond gets stronger all the time. Jess: When I first met Rena, she struck me as a person who was very reserved, but I always knew she was special. I learned quickly that she is the most caring and understanding person and truly has a heart of gold. These qualities have only gotten better over time, and I am so proud of the work and dedication she has put into our relationship.
