It all started at a 4th of July Beer Olympics party in Austin back in 2023. Jose was visiting from Orlando for the weekend when he met Erika — the beautiful “travel nurse” who caught his eye. They hit it off talking about her adventures and his (slightly ironic) job selling beef jerky as a vegan. When the party ended, Jose left thinking he’d never see her again — she’d be off on another assignment, and he’d be back in Florida. But life had other plans. A few months later, Jose decided to move to Austin full-time, and on his very first weekend in town, fate stepped in. At a concert pregame, Jose walked through the door and locked eyes with Erika — the same girl from that 4th of July party. They were both shocked (and maybe a little excited) to see each other again. They spent the whole concert talking — so much that Erika actually lost her voice by the end of the night. A few days (and one Instagram DM) later, they went on a coffee date… and the rest is history.
