Heather’s Story: Freshly single after 18 years, I signed up for the app out of curiosity—What does dating even look like now? It was my very first day, and after swiping through a sea of 50+ aged men's “nope” profiles, things were looking pretty hopeless. Then I saw him. Chris's was the first profile I actually clicked on and he had the kindest smile —"he's so cute!", I thought. Then I noticed he lived in California, while I was firmly rooted in Colorado. "Well… too bad." What I didn’t realize was that visiting his profile would notify him and soon after, he sent me a message. I don’t recall the exact words, but I remember the feeling: thoughtful, philosophical, intriguing. I hadn’t even paid for the app yet, but I subscribed immediately just so I could write him back. Chris’s Story: I had been on a few different dating apps for a while and was starting to think that there just wasn't anyone out there for me. In fact, I was thinking of closing all of my accounts. Then I received a notification that someone had viewed my profile and I checked to see who it was. Her profile picture was an alpine meadow—no photos of her at all—but her words were so warm, genuine, and so much like me that I felt an instant connection.
