Our story started quietly, the way some of the best ones do. Dylan and Hayley first met in high school. Back then, Dylan was the shy one—the kind of person who kept to himself, he was a sophomore and Hayley was a senior on the dance team. She was involved in pageants and Pep rallies, while Dylan was apart of the ROTC's rifle drill team. They didn’t really talk much at first. They existed in the same spaces, shared the same halls and friends, but their worlds only brushed past each other. The real connection came through their mutual friend, Megan. She was the bridge between them, the one who made sure they ended up in the same conversations, and at times, the same hangouts. Through her, Dylan and Hayley started to become friends. What began as casual conversations turned into a genuine friendship. Over the years, life took them in different directions. Dylan joined the Marine Corps and Hayley moved to Oregon to pursue her education and to be with family. But somehow, through all of life's changes, they always stayed connected. No matter how much time passed, there was always something there—an unspoken understanding, a quiet feeling that maybe their story wasn’t finished yet. For more than ten years, they remained in each other’s lives, always close but never quite at the same moment in time. It was the classic case of the right person, but the wrong time. Until one October day changed everything. Dylan got on an airplane and traveled all the way to Oregon to see Hayley. It was the first time they saw each other in more than 10 years. It wasn’t just a visit—it was a leap of faith. When he arrived, there was a moment where everything we had been feeling for years finally came to the surface. That was the day he asked Hayley to be his girlfriend, and just like that, the timing that had never quite worked before finally fell into place. From there, things moved naturally, like they lives had been slowly building toward this all along. Just a few months later, they moved in together, starting the next chapter side by side. Then came one of the most unforgettable days of our story. In February, Dylan planned a trip to Morro Bay. At the Morro Bay Golf Resort, after a beautiful day golfing together, they arrived at the 18th hole. What Hayley didn’t know was that Dylan had something incredible planned. In that moment—surrounded by the ocean air and the place that would forever hold this memory—Dylan got down on one knee and asked Hayley to marry him. And of course, Hayley said yes! Looking back, their story feels like it was always meant to unfold this way. They met when they were young, spent years growing into the people we were meant to become, and somehow found there way back to each other at exactly the right time. After more than a decade of friendship, timing, and a little bit of fate, Dylan and Hayley became the love of each other's life.
