It was 2008, just before the semester started at Michigan State University. Amanda was a freshman, and Alex was a junior. On the stoop of Hubbard Hall, Amanda was frantically telling a friend a story about an encounter she had with another student. In the midst of her story, Alex, who was standing next to their mutual friend, started laughing. Amanda was initially put off by Alex's laughter but then realized she might have been a bit dramatic, and it was actually a little funny. From there, their friendship began to blossom. At MSU, they would see each other in passing and always stop to say hello and have small talk. Alex graduated before Amanda, so once he left in 2010, the friendship sort of fizzled. It was not until 2013, when both had graduated from MSU and moved back to Detroit, that they became close friends. Alex always thought Amanda was smart, beautiful, and easygoing. One day, while scrolling on Facebook, Alex saw Amanda post a picture and decided to DM her to see if she remembered him. Of course, she did! Amanda always thought Alex was handsome, hilarious and very easy to talk to. From that DM, they started talking more, really getting to know one another. They become close friends. They talked about everything under the sun and even gave each other relationship advice! They traveled together with friends, most times coincidentally. They were there for each other through all the good times like birthdays and even the celebration of Alex moving to DC in 2016. They also supported each other through the bad times, always being a good listening ear. One of their favorite meeting spots was Moose Martini Bar in Dearborn. They would enjoy drinks, talk the night away, and for those moments, nothing else in the world mattered. After life took many turns for them both, they FINALLY began dating in 2021. Their friends and family had long wondered when they would take this step! They have had many adventures together. Their friendship has strengthened over time, and the love they have for one another is undeniable. It is finally time for them to become one - The Joneses! They are excited to have you all join them and witness this beautiful union.
