Travel

Traveling to Italy for our wedding is part of the adventure, and we can’t wait to see you there! We’ve put together all the tips you need - from flights and trains to car rentals so your journey is smooth, scenic, and as stress-free as possible! Please read through the whole page first; it probably answers the question you were just about to ask (and maybe a few you hadn’t even thought of yet!).

Flight

Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

The easiest airport to fly into is Rome Fiumicino (FCO) — it’s about a 2.5-hour drive or train ride to Assisi. From the airport, you can rent a car, or hop on a train to Assisi (both are simple, scenic routes). If you plan on taking the train to Assisi right after landing, take the Leonardo Express train from the airport to Roma Termini (~30 min ride). From there, you can board a train to Assisi.

Flight

Florence Airport (FLR)

Alternatively, you can fly into Florence (FLR) - it’s roughly the same distance from Assisi (2.5 hours), and we’ve taken this route ourselves. The train ride from Florence winds through vineyards, cypress-dotted hills, and medieval towns. Florence is the perfect place to explore for a night or two if you would rather begin your journey there!
