Question

Spraying Tradition Explained: Celebrating with Joy and Generosity

Answer

We are excited to celebrate our wedding with all of you, and we want to share a unique Nigerian tradition called "spraying" that you may encounter during our special day. This is done by placing the money in the couples’ pockets, and headdresses, or by simply handing it to them, all while dancing! Spraying is a heartfelt gesture of support and well-wishes, symbolized by showering the couple with money as a sign of celebration and blessing. During our wedding festivities, you may notice joyful music, vibrant dancing, and an enthusiastic atmosphere. This is when our loved ones express their happiness and affection through the spraying tradition. While it's customary to bring cash in small denominations for spraying, we understand that this may not always be convenient for our guests. To ensure that everyone can participate in this cherished tradition, we have arranged a digital exchange option. If you don't have cash in hand, you can contribute to our digital spraying fund using your preferred electronic payment method. This way, you can still join in the celebration and show your support in a way that is convenient for you. We appreciate your understanding and open-mindedness as we embrace our cultural heritage and share these customs with you. Your presence and well-wishes are what matter most to us, and any contribution, whether monetary or through your kind words, is genuinely valued and cherished. Thank you for being a part of our special day, and we can't wait to celebrate with you! With love, Jo & Eb
