About the Venue

The ceremony and reception will take place at the Linden Hill Historic Estate. The two homes were built in 1898 by architect Clarence H. Johnston, a designer best recognized for Glensheen mansion in Duluth, Minnesota, as well as the homes along Summit Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The homes were built for Charles Weyerhaeuser and Richard ‘Drew’ Musser, two bachelors who moved to Little Falls and founded the Pine Tree Lumbar Company. In 1920, the company closed and Charles Weyerhaeuser sold his home to Drew Musser for a "nickel and a handshake".
In the 1930s, Mrs. Sarah Musser built the music room while her husband, Drew, was on a business trip. The space was utilized as a wedding ceremony space for Sarah and Drew's daughter, Mary. More interestingly, Van Cliburn, winner of the first International Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia, performed on the family's piano.
