Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Sabrina who attended the Cupertino Chinese congregation. It was there that she first laid eyes on a boy named Jonathan. Although they saw each other often, they never really interacted beyond the occasional polite greeting. Sabrina was only 10 years old at the time, while Jonathan was 13. Sabrina couldn't help but feel a little infatuated, but he didn't seem to notice her (poor Sabrina!) Sabrina moved to Boston and Jonathan faded into a distant memory… 10 years later... One day, Sabrina moved back to California to start a new job. Jonathan was still attending the same congregation! When Sabrina saw Jonathan again, she was both intimidated and impressed. Jonathan the burrito-gobbling fiend had grown into a burrito-gobbling MAN. He was spiritual, caring, patient and calm, and Sabrina admired these qualities in him. But she also felt that Jonathan could not respect her because of her mid* Chinese skills and even more mid musical talent. Despite her fears and L rizz**, Jonathan respected Sabrina's intelligence and found her caring nature very endearing. At first, Jonathan admired these qualities from afar, but as they spent more time together in group settings, he found himself drawn to Sabrina’s warmth and kindness. He loved how easy she was to talk to, and how much she cared about other people. Slowly but surely, Jonathan began to realize that he had feelings for her. In April 2022, they hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park with a group of friends from the hall. The hike was long and difficult. There were moments when Sabrina thought she couldn't go on. But Jonathan was always there to lend a helping hand and a word of encouragement. Especially after seeing how caring and responsible Jonathan was during the hike, Sabrina found herself falling deeper in love with Jonathan every day, though she was too proud to admit it, even to herself. Jonathan knew that he had found someone truly special in Sabrina, and he was grateful every day for the chance to be with her. One night in May 2022, Jonathan asked Sabrina to be his girlfriend at a vista point with a view of the twinkling lights of the Bay Area. From then on, Sabrina and Jonathan were inseparable. They bonded over their shared love of helping others and their mutual appreciation for each other's strengths. They realized that they complemented each other very well and decided to take the next step in their relationship. Slay!*** And so in January, Sabrina and Jonathan became engaged and started planning their future together. They knew that challenges lay ahead, but they also knew that they had Jehovah and each other to rely on. Sabrina felt grateful for the way that Jonathan had always taken care of her, and Jonathan felt grateful for the way that Sabrina had brought light and joy into his life.
