Visiting at least one museum in a city is always essential to our travels. The Art Institute of Chicago has vast and iconic collections. Jonathan's favorites are the furniture and Ancient Greek sections, as well as the reconstruction of the old Chicago Stock Exchange Trading Room. Autumn's favorites are the Impressionist and paper weights collections.
We have enjoyed a number of boat tours throughout our world travels. Chicago's architecture boat tours offer scenic views of the riverfront and share stories behind many of the buildings that shape the city's skyline.
An array of options for dining, treats, karaoke, and public art!
Chicago destination for modern mediterranean, and the best we've had in the city so far! Reservations recommended at least 4 weeks in advance.
Italian is one of our favorite date-night cuisines and Piccolo Sogno's "Rosticciana" braised short rib is one we will vouch for!
River North has many restaurants to chose from. Tzuco is one of our date night spots we have included to help narrow your search if you are looking for modern Mexican cuisine.
A romantic spot that offers a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy creating your own fondue dinner. Dip all the meats, veggies, and desserts into melted cheese and chocolate fondue. Most recently, we celebrated Autumn’s birthday and our one-year countdown to saying “I do” here.
Classic Chicago establishment for Spanish tapas and one of our repeat date-night spots. The "patatas bravas" and bacon-wrapped dates are our favorites which pair well with the very strong sangria!
This is our favorite place in the city for deep dish! It was also featured on one of our favorite food documentaries "Somebody Feed Phil."
The Wiener's Circle is a Chicago institution known for its classic Chicago-style hot dogs and lively atmosphere. Here, on our second date in August 2020, we enjoyed hot dogs and fries before a walk in the nearby lakefront park.
Taking you back to August 2020 - we were set to meet for the first time at Rogers Park Social for drinks, but when we arrived, it was CLOSED! So, we headed over to Bulldogs, a spot that had been a favorite college and post-college hangout for Autumn. It turned out to be the perfect place to start our story.
